What we do: Discoverability
Found everywhere your buyers are looking.
SEO, AEO/GEO, paid media, and founder branding, working together so you show up whether someone’s searching Google, asking an AI assistant, or scrolling LinkedIn.
The definition
What Discoverability means here
Most of what gets called "SEO" today still means chasing a ranking on a page nobody scrolls past the fold. Discoverability at MotiveGTM means something wider: showing up wherever a buyer encounters you, whether that’s a search engine, an AI answer, or a LinkedIn feed, and being worth citing once they get there.
Two separate paths, one labeled Search (SEO), one labeled AI Answers (AEO/GEO), each carrying a buyer’s query inward from a different direction, both converging on one shared destination representing your brand’s visibility.

Getting found means more than ranking on Google
SEO
Technical and on-page work that earns you a place in classic search results, still the foundation everything else builds on.
AEO & GEO
Answer engine optimization (AEO) and generative engine optimization (GEO): structuring your content so answer engines like Perplexity and voice assistants, and generative tools like ChatGPT and Gemini, can lift a direct answer from it and cite your brand as the source.
Paid Media
Ads on LinkedIn, Google, and Meta, plus syndicated content placed in the publications and newsletters your buyers already read, to reach the buyers who haven’t found you organically yet.
Founder Branding
Turning your own visibility into a distribution channel, so your voice carries as much weight as your website does.
The method
The signals that earn a citation
Ranking and getting cited aren’t the same skill, and most SEO work still only aims at the first. Getting cited by an AI answer takes clear, structured, direct-answer content: a clean question-and-answer format, real schema markup, a straight sentence near the top that answers the question, and consistent facts that don’t contradict what’s on the rest of the internet about you.

Founder branding
People buy from people they feel they know
Buyers look up who’s behind a company long before they book a call. A founder who shows up in their own voice, sharing the wins, the misfires, and what they learned building the business, earns trust a company page rarely gets. We help you turn what you’re already living through into things people follow: LinkedIn posts, podcast appearances, builder series, and day-in-the-life content that sounds like you on a good day. Over time that visibility turns into authority. Buyers remember your name, peers quote you, and AI answers start citing you too.
- Your real voiceNo ghostwritten polish that could belong to anyone.
- Your personalityOpinions, humor, and the occasional hot take are what make people stop scrolling.
- Your story as distributionEvery milestone and setback is something to share, and each one reaches people an ad never would.

Who we help
Start where you are
Discoverability shows up differently depending on where you’re starting from. If you’re proving product-market fit for the first time, see Start-ups, where Discoverability leads alongside Growth, since nobody trusts what they can’t find. If you’ve already got proof and customers who love you, see SMBs, where Discoverability extends your reach past the customers who already know you. If you’re an IT services firm or B2B technology company, see IT Services & B2B Tech, where Discoverability gets even weight alongside Brand Activation and Growth, since that’s the founders’ own home turf.
FAQ
Straight answers.
What’s the difference between AEO and GEO?
AEO gets a direct answer engine, like Perplexity or a voice assistant, to lift your content and credit you. GEO gets a generative tool, like ChatGPT or Gemini, to cite your brand when it writes an answer. The underlying signals are the same either way: structured content, schema markup, a direct-answer sentence near the top, and consistent facts about you across the web. That overlap is why we run them as one service instead of billing you twice for the same input.
How do you get cited by ChatGPT or Perplexity?
Mostly through the same signals search engines already reward, done more precisely: clear, structured, direct-answer content, real schema markup, and consistent facts about you across the web. There’s no separate submission process. Generative tools pull from the same open web everyone else does, just with a different filter on what counts as a good answer.
Do we still need SEO if we want to show up in AI answers?
Yes. Answer and generative engines still crawl and index the same open web that search engines do, so the technical foundation (crawlable pages, clean structure, authoritative signals) needs to be in place before there’s anything to cite. SEO doesn’t go away because AEO and GEO exist; it’s the base the other two build on.
Is founder branding just personal LinkedIn content for our CEO?
It can include that, but it’s broader. Podcasts, day-in-the-life content, and builder series all count too, each used as a real distribution channel for whoever the client wants leading the brand’s voice, alongside SEO and paid media, not a side project that happens to also exist.
